Writer's
Guidelines
Thanks
for your interest in Salt of the Earth Press.
We
are always looking for new writers, and enjoying our relationships
with authors we've published in the past.

Writers’
Guidelines
We
accept a wide variety of works, including juvenile, romance, chick
lit, etc. and non-fiction (how to, self help, health/nutrition/fitness,
spirituality and religion, and alternative lifestyles). Although
we welcome international clients, we only accept work written
in English.
We
are interested in the following at this time:
-
Fiction
-
Children's
stories: Mid-length stories (not quite chapter books but
not picture books either) for 1st to 3rd graders. From fantasy
to realistic situations, we will entertain all submissions.
We prefer to publish picture books based on the illustrations
so please don't submit picture book manuscripts without
an illustrator and sample illustrations.
- Women:
Romance novels 35,000 to 75,000 words. We like to see some
quirky, interesting twists in the course of a plot without
resorting to espionage or amnesia.
- History/Genealogy
- Consider
old diaries that contain many names, historical detailed study
of a particular place at a particular time in history and
graveyard studies (look up of all names, maps, histories and
stories about the interred of all or at least 75% of the graves
in any one cemetery).
- Short
Stories and Articles
- We
are always looking for writers to submit articles on an ongoing
basis for our publications. Click
here.
- Occasionally
one of our editors pitches an anthology of short stories.
We are currently considering a Fantasy Anthology. If you would
like to be considered please send us a query letter to be
kept on file. Query:lmc@saltpress.com,
Subject: Fantasy Anthology
We
consider everything except a direct assignment to be submitted
on a speculative basis
